Dr. Straface graduated from Dartmouth Medical School in 1990 and completed his residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in 1993. He was an internist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center from 1993 to 1995. 

Dr. Straface is board certified in Internal Medicine, was in private practice in Monterey from 1995 -2009.  He is one of the founding physicians in Peninsula Primary Care in 2009, is the groups Medical Director, and a member of its Board.

Dr. Straface was one of the original physicians who formed the Monterey Bay Independent Physicians Association, and has served as one of its founding directors.
